Awwww it sucks, but it is about time Matt realized he cannot compete with the talent in the UFC now. It is extremely unfortunate how his disability held him back, but he, without a doubt, has the most heart out of any fighter i know.
Matt's most recent loss last saturday at UFC 133 to Alexander Gustafsson but the period on Hamill's decision to retire. he was originally contemplating retirement after UFC 130, but his friends, family, and trainers convinced him to gut out one last fight to ensure his decision to leave the sport.
Hamill held significant victories over such veterans as Tito Ortiz, Keith Jardine, and Mark Munoz. Matt is a fighter who was loved by all and will be missed by everyone in the sport.
